New Czech rail identity; retro roots, modern application.

We're loving the classic identity manuals which have been re-issued lately, we have a number of them in our reference library. If you're a fan too, then you'll find these stunning new designs for Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC), the Czech railway operator, something to pore over as well.

Prague-based Studio Marvil created the new identity. Up against three other agencies, they won the pitch to design the new branding for the Czech Railways main commuter and freight trains.

Using generous helpings of bold colours, weighty graphics and clean typography throughout, this visual identity works across a wide range of applications. Making this an instantly recognisable, and one we think will be widely appreciated when it rolls out, it's due to be implemented next December.
